Signal de Botrange

Signal de Botrange is the highest point in Belgium at 694 metres, on the broad plateau of the High Fens in Liège province. It is also the highest point in the Ardennes and in the European part of the Benelux. There is no summit in the usual sense, a road crosses the top, and a café stands beside it, which makes it one of the few high points anywhere reachable without a walk. A meteorological station stood here for decades before being replaced in 1999 by an automatic one on nearby Mount Rigi. The interest is the bog plateau stretching out in every direction.
