Louisiana Museum

Scandinavia’s most visited museum of modern and contemporary art, drawing over 700,000 people a year to a stretch of the Øresund coast thirty kilometres north of Copenhagen. It has shown international art since 1958 and still runs six to ten exhibitions a year, but the building is half the reason to come: a modernist landmark that threads galleries between art, architecture and landscape, opening onto a sculpture park with work by Calder, Henry Moore and Richard Serra. Yayoi Kusama’s Gleaming Lights of the Souls is on permanent display, and the restaurant looks straight out over the Øresund.
