Lisbon

Lisbon is the capital and most populous city of Portugal, with an estimated 658,236 people within its administrative limits as of 2025 and 3,353,000 across the metropolis. It lies on the northern shore of the Tagus in the western Iberian Peninsula. The western part of its metro area, the Portuguese Riviera, reaches the westernmost point of continental Europe at Cabo da Roca. The city is built across steep hills, which is why the trams and funiculars exist and why the viewpoints are as much a part of it as the streets.
