Cabo da Roca

Cabo da Roca is the cape at the western end of the Sintra Mountain Range, and the westernmost point of mainland Portugal, of continental Europe and of the Eurasian landmass. It sits in the municipality of Sintra near Azóia, west of Lisbon, and carries a lighthouse that has been in operation since 1772. There is not much here beyond the cliff, the light and the marker, which is the point. The Atlantic wind is constant, and the cliff path north and south of the cape is where the walking is.
