Ylläs

A fell of 719 metres in Kolari, the second largest ski resort in Lapland after Levi, with a village on either side (Äkäslompolo to the north, Ylläsjärvi to the south) joined by eleven kilometres of road around the flank. There are 330 kilometres of cross-country track, thirty-eight of them lit, sixty-one slopes and twenty-nine lifts, and it is the highest fell in Finland with ski lifts on it. The two-kilometre gondola is the country’s longest, and one of its cabins is fitted out as a sauna, the only such thing anywhere.
