Seville

Seville is the capital and largest city of Andalusia, on the lower Guadalquivir in the south-west of the Iberian Peninsula, with a municipal population of about 686,741 and a metropolitan population near 1.5 million, the fifth-largest city in Spain. Its old town covers roughly four square kilometres, which makes it one of the larger historic centres in Europe and comfortably walkable in a day if the heat allows. That caveat matters: summer here is severe, and daily maximums run routinely above 35 °C in July and August, and the city keeps to early mornings and late evenings. Spring and autumn are the seasons.
