Segovia

Segovia stands on the Inner Plateau of the Iberian Peninsula near the northern slopes of the Sistema Central, its housing nestled into a bend of the Eresma, and it is the capital and most populous municipality of its province in Castile and León. Three landmarks define it: the Roman aqueduct running through the middle of town, the cathedral, and the alcázar on the rock at the end of the ridge. The aqueduct is the one that stops people. It carries across the lower town at full height without mortar. The plateau is cold, and winter here is genuinely cold.
