Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park

Finland’s third largest national park at 1,020 square kilometres, and its most visited: the counters recorded 561,200 visits in 2019. A chain of fells runs about a hundred kilometres through it, with taiga forest of the boreal zone below, and the Pallastunturi fells are one of the country’s designated national landscapes. Visitors surveyed say what they value is the landscape, the extent of the path network, and the tidiness and safety of it. Trails run from short day circuits to long crossings, walked, skied, snowshoed, paddled or biked.
