Tropea

Tropea is a resort town in the Province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria, one of I Borghi più belli d’Italia, with 5,668 inhabitants. It is a popular seaside destination with sandy beaches on the Gulf of Saint Euphemia. The old town sits on a cliff directly above the sand, with a former monastery on its own rock offshore, looking out over the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is also where the sweet red onion of the same name comes from, which is taken seriously here.
