Strasbourg

Strasbourg is the largest city of the Grand Est and the prefecture of the Bas-Rhin, in the historic region of Alsace, and the official seat of the European Parliament. About three hundred thousand people live in the city, over five hundred thousand across Greater Strasbourg and its arrondissement, and 1,020,744 in the metropolitan area as of 2023, the eighth largest in France. The Grande Île, wrapped by the Ill, holds the cathedral and the old town, and the whole centre is flat and made for walking or cycling.
