Stokksnes

A headland on the southeastern coast near Höfn, south of Kastarárfjall and taking in Vestrahorn, the sheer dark mountain that does most of the work in photographs of this coast, and which appeared in the Bollywood film Dilwale. The tip of the headland carries the H-3 radar station, used by the Iceland Air Defence System to watch the country’s airspace. It is a small place with a large view: mountain, black sand and open North Atlantic within a few hundred metres of each other.
