Sarek National Park

Sarek National Park lies in Jokkmokk Municipality in Lapland, established in 1909 and so among the oldest national parks in Europe. It is roughly circular, about 50 kilometres across, and adjoins Stora Sjöfallet and Padjelanta. There are no marked trails, no huts and no bridges over the rivers, which is deliberate and which makes it the most demanding terrain in Sweden. Anyone going in carries everything and reads the weather themselves.
