Berlin

Berlin is the capital and largest city of Germany, and with 3.7 million inhabitants has the highest population within its city limits of any city in the European Union. It is also one of the German states, the third smallest by area, surrounded entirely by Brandenburg and bordering Potsdam to the south-west. Over five million people live in the wider urban area. It is a city of distinct districts rather than one centre, unusually green and unusually flat, and its recent history is legible on the ground almost everywhere.
