Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast, Costiera amalfitana, is a stretch of coastline over the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Gulf of Salerno, in the Province of Salerno in Campania, south of the Sorrentine Peninsula and north of the Cilentan Coast. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997 and is among Italy’s most popular seaside destinations. The road along it is famous and slow; the older way between the villages is on foot, up stepped paths through lemon terraces that were the only route before the road existed.
