Padre Island National Seashore

Padre Island is the longest undeveloped barrier island in the world, and this seashore covers seventy miles of it with 65.5 miles of Gulf beach, the fourth national seashore designated in the United States. Most of it is primitive; all but four miles of the beach is open to vehicles, and much of it is reachable only by four-wheel drive. Beach, dune and tidal flat environments run the length of it, with the Laguna Madre along the western shore, a well-known windsurfing water.
