Austin

The capital of Texas, incorporated on 27 December 1839 and one of the fastest-growing large cities in the country since 2010. It sits in Central Texas within the greater Hill Country, among lakes, rivers and waterways, Lady Bird Lake and Lake Travis on the Colorado, along with Barton Springs and McKinney Falls. Austin and San Antonio lie about eighty miles apart along the I-35 corridor. It is the second-most populous state capital in the United States, after Phoenix.
