Säntis

At 2,501.9 metres the highest mountain in the Alpstein and the culminating point of the whole Appenzell Alps, standing between Lake Walen and Lake Constance. Its exposed northerly position makes it visible for a very long way, houses called Säntisblick, Säntis view, are found as far off as the Black Forest. It is the most prominent summit in Europe with an observation deck on top, and from it six countries can be seen in clear weather: Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, France and Italy. Three cantons meet on the mountain.
