Denali National Park and Preserve

A national park and preserve in Interior Alaska, centered on Denali, the highest mountain in North America, and formerly known as Mount McKinley National Park. Park and contiguous preserve together cover 6,045,153 acres, an area larger than the state of New Hampshire, and a wilderness of 2,146,580 acres was established within the park on 2 December 1980. The landscape stacks by elevation: forest at the lowest levels, including deciduous taiga, tundra in the middle, then glaciers, snow and bare rock at the top, with the Kahiltna Glacier the longest of them. It received 543,300 recreational visitors in 2025.
