About Cambados
Cambados is a coastal town in the province of Pontevedra, known for its historic monuments, its seafood and Albariño, the white wine nicknamed the wine of the sea for its coastal vineyards and its match with seafood. It is the centre of Val do Salnés, a sub-zone of the Rías Baixas DO, which gained official DO status in 1988. The town was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 2001 and named European City of Wine in 2017. Clams and cockles are gathered at low tide around the San Tome Tower, and the Festa do Albariño fills the town in the week leading to the first Sunday of August. That is the week to come.
