Tiveden National Park

Tiveden National Park sits in the Tiveden forest across the municipalities of Laxå in Örebro County and Karlsborg in Västra Götaland County, in the historical province of Västergötland. It is administered by Naturvårdsverket together with Örebro county, though part of the area falls in Västra Götaland. From the beginning of the Middle Ages the forest of Tiveden was a hiding place for outlaws, who took refuge in it, which is the reputation that kept travellers going around it rather than through for centuries.
