Verona

Verona is the largest city in the Veneto with 255,131 inhabitants, one of the region’s seven provincial capitals and the largest municipality in north-eastern Italy; its metropolitan area covers 1,426 square kilometres and holds 714,310 people. The Roman arena in the middle of town is still in use, which is the thing that surprises people. An opera season runs in it every summer. The city grew up at the intersection of several roads, and had been a Roman colonia since 89 BC.
