Lübeck

Lübeck, officially the Hanseatic City of Lübeck, has around 220,000 inhabitants, the second largest city on the German Baltic coast and the second largest in Schleswig-Holstein after Kiel, and the thirty-sixth largest in Germany. It lies in the Holsatian part of the state. The old town stands on a densely built-up island and is the most extensive UNESCO World Heritage Site in the country, with six church towers passing 100 metres above a skyline that has kept its Hanseatic shape.
